Here it the original proposal I put in for Information Systems

Computer Science Core (Both Tracks Must Take)

Pre-Req Discrete Mathematics (CPSC 125)

8 credits Computer Science I and II (CPSC 220 and CPSC 230)

3 credits Data Structures (CPSC 321)

3 credits Database (CPSC 350, new course submitted Fall 2006)

4 credits Software Engineering (CPSC 390)

Total Credits = 18 Credits

Computer Science Traditional Required Courses (12 Credits)

CPSC 305 Computer Architecture

CPSC 326 Theoretical Foundations

CPSC 401 Programming Languages

CPSC 405 Operating Systems

Information System Required Course (6 Credits)

Data Communication & Computer Networks

Information System

Computer Science Required Cognate Courses (3 Credits)

MATH 300 Linear Algebra or MATH 312 Differential Equations or MATH 351 Numerical Analysis

Information System Required Cognate Courses (9 Credits)

3 credits Principles of Accounting II BUAD 232

3 Credits Principles of Management (BUAD 300)

New Required Business Course

3 Introductory Economics (ECON 361) * After talking with ECON this course would be more appropriate than 301 which as they put it "Math Econ is closer to an aplied calculus course" versus "361 is essentially a stats class with an emphasis on tools that are particulalry useful to economists" --Polack 11:12, 26 September 2006 (EDT)

Karen was concerned about not have a stats class in the Information System major, but I couldn't figure out where to put it, but a light bulb went on when Marsha asked about Micro vs. Macro. This would give us a version of stats and require Micro and Macro because they are pre-reqs to ECON 201 and puts the major in line with other Information System Majors.--Polack 10:53, 26 September 2006 (EDT)

Computer Science Electives (6 Credits)

Computer Graphics

Parallel Processing

Networks

HCI

Web Development

E-Commerce

Artificial Intelligence

And all the others

Information Systems Electives (6 Credits)

Appropriate Electives May Include

Software Testing & Quality Assurance

Software Architecture & Design Paradigms

Project Management

Web Development

E-Commerce

Decision Support Systems

Computer Security

Of course any courses could be an elective but these courses are more geared to IS
